Fulham Palace will throw open its historic gates on Sunday 3 May for go green fest, a newly reimagined sustainability and gardening festival designed to bring families, neighbours and nature-lovers together for a full day of discovery, creativity and outdoor fun.
Running from 11am to 4pm, the one-day event marks a refreshed version of the Palace’s annual green meet, now expanded into an immersive, activity-packed celebration of biodiversity and community.
Set within the Palace’s leafy grounds and walled garden, the festival invites visitors of all ages to explore the theme of “do it yourself” through a lively programme of workshops, talks and hands-on sessions — all included in the ticket price. Guests can try their hand at seed planting, learn practical repair skills, or join guided tours with the Palace’s expert garden team. For younger visitors, garden games such as archery tag and zorbing promise plenty of energy-burning excitement, while the Palace’s resident chickens will be on hand to meet their adoring public.
Eco-friendly arts and crafts, birdwatching sessions, beekeeping demonstrations and gardening taster talks round out a programme designed to inspire curiosity about the natural world. The festival’s food offering will be just as enticing: the Drawing Room Café and a selection of outdoor vendors will serve a wide range of meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day. Visitors can also browse stalls selling sustainable products, while the Palace’s garden barrow will showcase organic produce, homemade preserves and freshly picked flowers grown just metres away in the historic walled garden.
With its focus on sustainability, gardening and community connection, go green fest forms part of Fulham Palace’s wider biodiversity and climate-resilience work, reinforcing its commitment to protecting green spaces and promoting environmentally conscious living. Event organiser Ana Coltatu says the team is excited to welcome visitors back. “Go green fest is our newly refreshed family festival at Fulham Palace and has been reimagined as a hands-on day of discovery, play and inspiration for all ages. It’s all about bringing people together to enjoy nature, gardening and sustainable living.”
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children, available online until 24 hours before the event, with a £1 increase for on-the-door purchases.
