Live music in front of Chelsea and Westminster's Christmas tree
December 8, 2025
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is preparing to shine a spotlight on its staff and volunteers with a week-long celebration of appreciation. Running from 8–12 December, The Great Big Thank You Week will take place across Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, offering a programme of festive performances, creative workshops and special recognition events designed to honour the efforts of teams throughout the year.
At the heart of the celebrations is the return of The Great Big Festive Fayre, a seasonal highlight that transforms hospital atriums into bustling markets filled with gifts, food and craftwork from local makers and small businesses. The fayre will be held on Thursday 11 December from 10am to 4pm. Last year’s event drew staff, patients, visitors and community partners together, and this year promises an even wider variety of stalls. Shoppers can expect to find scarves, jewellery, original artwork, handmade Christmas decorations, crystal and resin gifts, soaps and bath products, natural home fragrances, organic ginger juice, homemade bakes, candles, seasonal scents and traditional Goan Christmas sweets and snacks.
Beyond the shopping, the fayre offers a chance to meet local independent traders and discover more about the work of hospital teams. It also highlights the role of CW+, the Trust’s charity partner, which supports staff and patients through arts, wellbeing and innovation programmes. Organisers are encouraging staff, patients, visitors and members of the local community to drop in, browse the stalls and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
The week will also feature The Great Big Cheer Awards, recognising colleagues and teams who go above and beyond for patients and one another. Combined with performances and creative sessions, the programme aims to create moments of joy and appreciation across both hospital sites.
