Parsons Green’s newest coffee shop, WatchHouse is set to open next month.

251 New Kings Road, is one of five London sites which were formerlyy part of the collapsed Oree Boulangerie chain to be taken over by WatchHouse.

This growing speciality coffee chain was founded in 2014 in a small 19th century former watch house in Bermondsey, once a shelter for men guarding the graveyard of St Mary Magdalen’s Church, and says this tiny building has since become its namesake.

It now has 19 branches across London, and says all are distinctive, beautifully designed spaces offering quality coffee, food and service. Work is now underway redesigning the corner site in Parsons Green.

As well as what WatchHouse describes as Modern Coffee, its menu includes a full breakfast and brunch service, offering everything from porridge to Eggs Benedict, as well as seasonal specials and a range of cakes, pastries and its own range of chocolate.

Describing its new sites as “high potential”, WatchHouse MD Caroline Ottoy said: “These five locations are an exciting opportunity. They strengthen our presence in London and reflect the clarity we have around where and how we grow.

“It’s a move that deepens our roots in London and reinforces the foundations for what comes next.”

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
