Pupils at Burlington House School
December 8, 2025
Burlington House School in Fulham has been ranked among the top 1% of schools nationally for its Value-Added GCSE results, according to new data from the Fischer Family Trust (FFT).
The independent specialist school, which supports neurodiverse pupils and those with specific learning differences (SpLD), achieved an average Value Added score of +2.1 grades across all subjects—meaning students exceeded national expectations by more than two full GCSE grades.
The FFT benchmarking system compares pupil outcomes across both mainstream and independent schools. Burlington House’s 2025 cohort began with below-average scores, including an average CAT4 score of 90 and verbal reasoning score of 88. Despite these starting points, students achieved top national rankings in multiple subjects, including English Literature (+3.6), History (+4.3), and Citizenship (+2.7).
Headteacher Nicola Lovell said the results reflect the school’s specialist approach: “Their progress shows that with the right environment, the right expertise and the right support, every neurodiverse young person can thrive, grow in confidence and achieve more than they ever imagined.”
The school’s structure combines mainstream academic delivery with specialist support, including integrated therapy, small class sizes and tailored pastoral care. FFT data also showed that pupils with the lowest prior attainment made the greatest progress, particularly in English and Maths, where Value Added scores ranged from +2.4 to +3.4.
Value Added scores focus on improvement rather than raw attainment, offering a more nuanced picture of pupil development.
