Co-op has opened a brand-new store on Fulham Palace Road, welcoming shoppers from early morning until late at night. The doors opened on Friday 21 August, with the retailer describing the branch as a community hub designed to make everyday shopping easier for local residents, commuters and hospital staff from nearby Charing Cross.

The store, at 108–114 Fulham Palace Road (W6 9PL) is in the recently completed mixed used development on the junction with Winslow Road. It spans almost 3,000 square feet and stocks Co-op’s full range of fresh food, healthy options, meal ideas, Fairtrade goods, bakery items, world foods, and chilled beers and wines.

Fifteen new jobs have been created, and the branch includes practical services such as PayPoint for bill payments and DPD parcel collection, reflecting Co-op’s aim to offer more than just groceries. Online shoppers can also order for home delivery through shop.coop.co.uk, Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, with items picked fresh in-store and delivered quickly across the neighbourhood.

Opening-week promotions include a headline deal for members: two stone-baked pizzas and a tub of Ben & Jerry’s for £5. Member-only prices are a growing part of Co-op’s offer, giving regular shoppers lower prices on everyday essentials.

Sajid Ashraf, Co-op’s Area Operations Manager, said the team was “delighted to launch Co-op’s newest store”, adding: “We invest to create local stores which are more than just a shop — they are a hub contributing to local life and meeting the needs of communities, with a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone.”

The store also features soft-plastic recycling, allowing customers to return items that are often not accepted in kerbside collections, such as crisp packets, bread bags, biscuit wrappers and pet-food pouches.

Co-op emphasises its commitment to British agriculture, with all own-brand meat, poultry and dairy sourced entirely from the UK — including ingredients used in ready meals, pies and sandwiches. Fairtrade products are available throughout the store, supporting farmers and workers around the world.

With a history stretching back more than 180 years, Co-op remains one of the world’s largest consumer-owned co-operatives. More than seven million members own the business and shape its direction, a model the organisation says helps ensure its stores continue to serve and support local communities.

The new Fulham Palace Road branch is open 7am–11pm daily.
