An exhibition of photographs is to open at the Riverside Studios detailing all the iconic BBC programmes that were made at the venue.
Riverside Studios is staging the exhibition in collaboration with BBC History which will include a collection of photographs taken behind-the-scenes of the most iconic BBC programmes made in our original building, from Doctor Who and Hancock’s Half Hour to Blue Peter and Top of the Pops.
A variety of related events is also set to be unveiled, from additional screenings from the studio’s archive and activities for children. The exhibition opens on 21 April.
From 24 – 30 April Liza Pulman, following her West End Show Liza Pulman Sings Streisand, returns with the London premiere of her brand-new show and album THE HEART OF IT.
From 1-16 April Dead Air is a dark comedy about a local radio station in trouble after years of funding cuts and the loss of everyone’s favourite DJ, George. Lucy, the determined Station Manager, must save the station from a hostile takeover by Ramparts Media.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.
Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more.
However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.
