Original writing is blended with adapted material from the Russian playwright
September 15, 2025
A new theatrical work titled Four Sisters will be staged at Barons Court Theatre from 7 to 11 October , following a preview at The Glitch as part of the Lambeth Fringe on 2 October.
Developed by Little Foxes Theatre Company and Hoo Hah House, the production, which they happily describe as a 'Chekhov rip-off', blends original writing with adapted material from the Russian playwright to explore themes of identity, friendship, and the complexities of growing up.
Set in a surreal, liminal space where past and present overlap, Four Sisters follows four characters—Olga, Masha, Irina, and Natasha—as they navigate memory, longing, and the search for belonging. The cast includes Helen Baird, Molly Spain, Sarah Sinizer-Hopkins, and Nikki Weber. Spain also co-authors the piece alongside Chekhov, with direction by Everleigh Brenner and Molly Spain.
The production draws on ensemble movement and music to examine the blurred boundaries between childhood and adulthood, and between personal history and collective experience. It is described as an evolving project that bridges classical literature with contemporary theatrical forms.
Performances at Barons Court Theatre begin nightly at 7:30pm. The preview at The Glitch on 2 October is scheduled for 5:30pm. The work-in-progress showing forms part of the Lambeth Fringe programme.
Further details cost £15 (£10 for concessions) and can be purchased here.
The Barons Court Theatre is below the Curtain's Up Pub at 28a Comeragh Road, W14 9HR.
