A new tak

August 19, 2024

Jazz pianist Elia Do Mar is launching a new album, On The Move - and is celebrating it with a free concert at Sands End Arts and Community Centre.

The Official Album Release Concert is on Sunday, 25 August, from 4.50pm till 7.10pm and is open to all.

Elia, born Elia Martins Alexandre, the son of a Portuguese father and an Italian mother, began playing classical music at the age of five and gradually discovered his love for Jazz.

In recent years, Elia has performed at many London venues and events, and in August last year he put together a quartet to play at Sands End Arts and Community Centre. The quartet’s first performance attracted a number of attendees and since then . Elia and Dave Davies have run a monthly charity jazz gig / jam session at the centre’s Walnut Tree Cafe which has proved a great success.

In January this year, Elia's quartet featuring Josh Wakeham on tenor sax, Conor Murray on bass, and Dave Davies on drums recorded their debut album, On The Move.

Now the album is being released and Elia’s fans in Fulham are invited to become the first people to enjoy it. There is no need to book in advance for this event, simply drop in the centre, in the north west corner of Fulham’s South Park off Peterborough Road.

Find out more about the album launch here and on Elia’s web site.
