Voters need to act quickly to ensure they are registered
June 9, 2025
A by-election to elect a new councillor for Fulham Town ward is to be held on Thursday 3 July.
It has come about following the resignation of Andrew Dinsmore, the former deputy leader of the Conservative group, who decided to move away from the area for family reasons.
Four candidates have declared including Liam Downer Sanderson who will try to defend the seat for the Conservatives, Sam Kelly who will represent Labour, Roy Pounsford from the Liberal Democrats, the Green Party's Aidan Chisholm and Chris Clowes for Reform.
Local political observers appear to agree that the Conservatives remain the favourites to take the seat but that one of three parties could emerge the winners with both Labour and the Lib Dems seeing it as a target. The Tory candidate will see his vote split with Reform unlike at the last local elections which may mean another party could snatch the seat even if they don’t see an increase in support. However, at the other end of the political spectrum, the entrance of a Green candidate will also mean more choices for voters. Despite the strong recent showing from Reform nationally recently, it would be a major shock for it to take this seat.
Victoria Brocklebank-Fowler remains a Conservative councillor for the ward.
