Claude Bosi, the chef behind the restaurant and Oyster Bar at Bibendum in Michelin House is planning a new restaurant on Fulham Road to be run with his wife Lucy.

Opening in January, Josephine will be a brasserie in the style of his native city of Lyon where his parents had a restaurant. It is named after his grandmother and is expected to have a more affordably priced menu than the two Michelin starred restaurant further up Fulham Road.

It will be located in the former premises of Colette at number 315 at the junction with Callow Street so will be a much smaller venue with just 76 covers in the style of the bouchons of Lyon with offal likely to feature prominently on the menu.

It will also have ‘meter wine’ meaning you will only pay for what you drink which is also a Lyonnaise tradition.

M. Bosi told the Caterer magazine, “We’re incredibly excited to bring a little piece of Lyon to Fulham with the opening of Josephine.

“This restaurant is a very personal project for us, an ode to my grandmother and the traditional bouchons of Lyon that have always held a special place in our hearts.”
