Local eye-witnesses are reporting that a man in his twenties was the victim of an apparent acid attack in Fulham this Friday (9 May).

According to staff at the Co-op store on Lillie Road, the man had a corrosive substance sprayed in his face and they applied milk and water to reduce potential injury.

Police, ambulance and London Fire Brigade were called to the scene shortly before 7pm and fire investigators have taken away the substances for testing.

The man was taken to Hammersmith Hospital with burns to his face but there are no further updates on his condition.

We have requested further details of the incident from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service.
