Tube and Rail Travel over the Festive Season


Details of reduced services

Transport for London has produced a guide to travel in the Capital over Christmas.

On Christmas Eve, a Saturday service will operate on the tube until 7pm, after which trains will run less frequently, and last trains will run at Sunday times.

A Saturday service will also operate on the buses, with a few exceptions. There will be no Night Buses and on 24 hour routes buses will operate until just after midnight.

There will be no tube service on Christmas Day. There will be few bus services operating, where special fares
will apply. These are The Oxford Tube, which will operate a special service between Oxford and London Victoria until 7pm, calling at Heathrow Airport Central bus station in both directions instead of Hillingdon station;
National Express Heathrow Hotel Hoppa routes
to Terminals 1, 2, 3 (H1-H9), Terminal 4 (H51,
H53, H54, H56) and Terminal 5 (H51, H53-H58);
Purple Parking – Park & Ride between Southall
and Heathrow (all terminals) will operate.

On Boxing Day a reduced Reduced Sunday services will operate on all underground lines, with the first trains running through central London at approximately 8.30am. Services will finish at Sunday times.

A number of stations will be closed including:

Circle line: Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Farringdon, Goldhawk Road, Great Portland Street,
Latimer Road and Royal Oak closed.
District line: no Kensington (Olympia) service. Blackfriars, Bow Road, Cannon Street,
Chiswick Park, Kensington (Olympia), Ravenscourt Park and Upminster Bridge closed.
Hammersmith & City line: Bow Road, Farringdon, Goldhawk Road, Great Portland Street,
Latimer Road and Royal Oak closed.

A Sunday service will also operate on bus services from around 8.30am with some exceptions.

A Sunday service will operate on both on December 27, followed by Saturday services throughout the week.

London Overground also has a revised timetabled over Christmas. The Clapham Junction to Willesden Junction Line, which runs through Shepherd's Bush, Olympia, West Brompton and Imperial Wharf, will offer a normal service on December 24, but with an early finish just after 8pm.

There will be no service on December 25 and 26, and from December 17 to January 3 trains will run between between Clapham and Shepherd's Bush only.

The Richmond to Stratford Line will run a normal service on December 24, with an early finish, and then there will be no service on the whole line until January 3.
