A new community initiative has arrived in the borough, promising to put mums first and tackle the isolation many experience in early parenthood. The Mum Club, a nationwide network of local meet-ups, has officially launched in Hammersmith & Fulham, offering a welcoming space for mothers to connect, share experiences and enjoy time for themselves.

The club hosts a variety of events, from brunches and coffee mornings to walks and fitness classes, all designed to help mums build friendships and feel supported. Founders Lauren Webber and Jessica Lawes say the idea was born out of their own experiences of attending baby classes where children were entertained but parents left without forming meaningful connections. “Good mum friends are essential when you have children, but they’re not always easy to find,” they explained. “We created The Mum Club so no mum would ever have to feel that way.”

Research shows that 89% of mothers have felt lonely at least once since giving birth, a statistic The Mum Club is determined to change. By creating inclusive, relaxed events, the group aims to provide a lifeline for first-time mums, those with older children, and women who have recently moved to the area.

Local hosts Fran and Liv will be running the Hammersmith & Fulham branch, ensuring mums across the borough have opportunities to meet, chat and share advice. Whether attending alone or with little ones, participants can expect a supportive environment where laughter and conversation flow as freely as the coffee.
