Residents will gather at war memorials in Fulham and Shepherds Bush on Sunday 8 November as Hammersmith & Fulham marks Remembrance Sunday with services, parades and acts of remembrance.
The annual ceremonies commemorate the service and sacrifice of members of the armed forces and honour those who lost their lives in conflicts from the First World War onwards.
Remembrance Sunday marks the armistice that brought an end to the First World War, when the guns fell silent at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. The ceremonies also recognise those who served and died in the Second World War and subsequent conflicts.
In Fulham, the parade will assemble at Parsons Green before departing at 10.35am along New Kings Road towards the Fulham War Memorial in Vicarage Gardens.
Mayor Councillor Sharon Holder will attend the open-air service, which will be led by Reverend Peter Dobson of All Saints Church, Fulham.
The procession will include Army reservists and cadets, veterans' organisations, emergency services representatives, St John Ambulance volunteers, local youth groups, faith leaders, community organisations and the Fulham Brass Band.
Participants will form up in Church Gate before proceeding across Fulham High Street to Fulham House, where the Mayor will take the salute. The parade will then be dismissed following the ceremony.
New Kings Road and surrounding access roads will be closed to traffic until after the procession ends.
The Shepherd’s Bush procession will begin at 10.25am on Sulgrave Road, off Shepherds Bush Road, before making its way to the war memorial on Shepherd’s Bush Green for an open-air service.
The ceremony will be attended by Deputy Mayor Councillor Daryl Brown and led by Father Richard Nesbitt of Our Lady of Fatima Church in White City and Reverend Cameron Collington of St Simon's Church.
The parade is set to feature local Army reservists, cadets, members of the Burma Star Association, faith leaders, scout groups, Metropolitan Police officers, London Fire Brigade cadets and community organisations.
A procession led by piper Fergus Collington alongside Thames Fanfare Brass will culminate in the sounding of the Last Post at 11am. The Deputy Mayor will take the salute outside The Grampians on Shepherd’s Bush Road before the parade is dismissed in Westwick Gardens.
Road closures will be in place on parts of Sulgrave Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road, Shepherd’s Bush Green roundabout and Uxbridge Road until the procession has concluded.

Members of the public are welcome to attend either service without joining the parade. Residents can gather at Shepherd’s Bush Green or Vicarage Gardens at All Saints Church before 11am to take part in the ceremonies.
Poppy collectors will be fundraising throughout the remembrance period, with donations supporting the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal, which provides assistance to serving and former members of the armed forces and their families.
