Timothy Saunders absconded from secure unit at Charing Cross
Police have said on Wednesday August 4 that a man who absconded from a local secure mental health
unit has now been found.
Police appealed for help tracing Timothy Saunders, 40, after he went missing on Thursday, July 29 from the Hammersmith
and Fulham Mental Health Unit attached to Charing Cross Hospital in Fulham Palace Road.
They said at the time that is was believed he still could be in the capital and had contacts in the City of London.
Officers advised members of the public not to approach him, but to call 999 immediately.
On January 27 this year, Saunders was convicted at West London Magistrates' Court of assaulting a
police officer in June 2009.
He was then made subject to a Hospital Order (under the Mental Health
Act).
