North End Road Hosts Autumn Festival on Saturday

Eco-friendly event part of celebrations marking Car Free Day

North End Road is going traffic free once again for an Autumn Festival on Saturday 21 September.

The festival, including the latest of the award winning North End Road seasonal markets, forms part of celebrations to mark World Car Free Day on Sunday, which will involve a host of events in London and across the world.

There will be more than 150 stalls offering food, drink and gifts, an exciting line-up of live music acts, a wide variety of street entertainment and lots of eco-friendly fun from 9am to 5pm.

There will also be fresh fruit and veg on offer from the regular market traders plus the chance to enjoy the newly opened pop-up Crowther Market Garden seating area on the corner of Coomer Place.

This autumn, there is an emphasis on planet-friendly entertainment from electric bikes to a chill out zone with grass specially laid out across the historic high street near the junction with Lillie Road.

The street entertainment will continue the eco-friendly theme with living trees, pictured above and a giant mechanical tortoise.

Meanwhile, local businesses in the area. including the Cock Tavern and Nandos Nino in North End Road will provide free spots to refill your reusable bottle on the day with the support of Refill, which will also have a stall on the day.

In partnership with the council, Fulham Broadway BID will be extending the car-free fun down to Jerdan Place and Vanston Place.

The Fulham Fringe Fest will include taster dance classes, a football skills zone for the kids run by Chelsea FC, live music from local talent and an array of stalls to shop from including a pop-up cocktail bar.

Comedy and laughter will be provided throughout the day from Aidan Orange and Chanel No5.
