Woman Hit By Cyclist During Ride London Event Dies


Suffered serious head injuries after collision which took place in July

A 67-year-old woman who was hit by a cyclist during the Prudential RideLondon event has died in hospital

The collision took place at around noon on Sunday, 30 July at the junction of New King's Road and Guion Road in the Parson's Green area of Hammersmith and Fulham.
The male cyclist who is in his sixties was taken to a west London hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and was subsequently discharged.

The female pedestrian suffered serious head injuries and was also taken to west London hospital where she died on Thursday, 31 August. Her next of kin have been informed.

Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "In light of the sad news that the pedestrian in this collision has passed away, it is important that we understand more about the circumstances surrounding the collision from either members of the public or those working as part of the event. Please call into the incident room if you have information, footage or images that could benefit our investigation."
