All you need to celebrate is right here in SW6
There's no need to step outside SW6 this Christmas - all you need to celebrate is right here on the doorstep.
We've put together a guide to all the celebrating, shopping and dining in Fulham in the run-up to to the big day.
Christmas music
Feel like singing some Christmas carols? Join the crowds around the giant tree in the beer garden of the White Horse pub in Parsons Green on Wednesday December 15, or head for the Elk Bar on Fulham Broadway on December 21 where Fulham Brass Band will play some favourite tunes during what the bar promises will be an evening of old-fashioned festive charm.
On Thursday December 16, Westminster Cathedral Choir School will sing in the main atrium of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital from 1pm to 1.45pm.
On Friday December 17, London Oratory School Senior Symphonic Concert will be held in the John McIntosh Arts Centre Theatre. The concert will include performances by the Senior Orchestra, Junior Orchestras and Concert Band. The evening begins at 7pm and tickets cost £5 or £3 concessions or Friends of the Arts Centre.
Seasonal spirit
Visit Union Market on Fulham Broadway on Thursday December 16 from 5pm for a free mulled wine party with mince pies and other seasonal treats. On Friday, December 17, Head Chef Aaron Craze will be offering Christmas cooking demos at 6.30pm, guiding visitors through seasonal recipes. Aterwards pick up a recipe card so you can buy all the ingredients you need in the store to take home and try for yourself.
In Bishops Park, the award winning Pryors Bank Cafe is opening to offer a three course Christmas lunch for £15.50 and a Christmas dinner for £24.50 per person.
By eating at Pryors Bank Cafe you are supporting the work of the Oswald Stoll Foundation and the ex-servicemen and women the foundation helps back into work. To book call Mike or Laura on 020 7731 5227.
Cards for good causes
Fulham doesn't have its own charity card shop this year, so hop onto the 14 bus and pop over the river to St Mary's Church which has Cards for Good Causes benefiting over 25 local and national charities. The church shop is open daily from 10am till 4.30m until this Saturday, December 18.
You can also find Card Aid shops at a number of nearby locations including Chelsea Old Town Hall and Shepherd's Bush Library at Westfield. For an unusual Christmas gift, these shops are also selling Peace Oil, prize winning extra virgin olive oil which has been produced in Israel by Jews, Arabs, Druze and Bedouin working together.
Profits from the sale of the oil, an initiative of the Charities Advisory Trust, are used to support peace and reconciliation work in the Middle East, and you can also order Peace Oil online.
Cards are also on sale at charity shops throughout Fulham including FARA in North End Road, Fulham Road and Kings Road, Mind, RNIB and Trinity Hospice in Fulham Road and Cancer Research and British Heart Foundation in North End Road.
Meet Father Christmas

On Sunday December 19, Fulham Palace will be visited by Father Christmas from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Bring the kids along to meet him and don’t forget their Christmas lists as a Christmas post box will be available for sending letters to the North Pole. Tickets cost £2 per child, with no booking required.
