Aa chaotic mafia tale complete with revenge, murder, and black pudding
October 20, 2025
Local playwright Hughie Shepherd-Cross brings his acclaimed comedy The Bang Gang to Riverside Studios this autumn, following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe and a transfer to Seven Dials Playhouse earlier this year.
Running from 27 October to 2 November, the show is presented by Tinned Laughter, a production company known for its surreal, character-driven comedy. The Bang Gang was originally titled Gang Bang before being renamed for taste purposes. It was selected for the Pleasance Best of Edinburgh Programme and praised for its rapid-fire humour and genre parody.
Set in post-war Britain, the play follows Don Lambrini — a Sicilian who mistakenly boards a Thomas Cook cruise to Blackpool instead of emigrating to America. What unfolds is a chaotic mafia tale relocated to the North of England, complete with revenge, murder, and black pudding.
The cast includes, Fred Cohen, recently seen in I Was Honey Boo Boo, Fabian Bevan, tipped for a role in an upcoming Netflix drama and Hannah Johnson, known for her work with Pinch Punch Improv.
Performances begin nightly at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at £18 (£15 concessions).
Founded by Hughie, Tinned Laughter is a London-based theatre collective focused on absurdist comedy and fringe innovation. The company has built a reputation for bold, fast-paced productions that blend satire with physical theatre. Previous shows include The Screen Test, which ran at Seven Dials Playhouse earlier this year.
Riverside Studios is at 101 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith W6 9BN.
