Coming up at the Barons Court Theatre is a one woman play to be performed by Carolyn Hartvigsen entitled My Dead.

It is the story of a woman who finds her life through her dead. Uncovering letters and photographs from her deceased grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great grandparents, and even great-great-great grandparents, she is shocked to discover her ancestors from England, Wales, Scotland, Norway, Denmark, and Mexico are passing down shared experiences that will alter the course of her life... leading her to ask: "My Dead. Do I really know them?"

It questions our individual connections to the past, and in those connections continues on to question grief, love, motherhood, and even polygamy.

My Dead was originally developed by Carolyn Hartvigsen as a 25 minute thesis project at LAMDA in 2021. It has since developed into an hour long one woman play that is now embarking on a multi-country tour.

Hart Productions is a new London based theatre and production company lead by Carolyn Hartvigsen with Candice MacAllister as its Creative Producer. Carolyn and Candice are also founding members of the award nominated Other Mysteries Theatre Company.

There are three performances on 3 March at 7.30pm and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on 4 March.

Tickets cost £15 or £10 for concessions and can be purchased online.

The Barons Court Theatre is below the Curtain's Up Pub at 28a Comeragh Road, London W14 9HR.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
