Famously, the show opens with ‘Oh What a Beautiful Morning’, and contains an abundance of wonderful songs such as ‘The Surrey With The Fringe On Top’, ‘People Will Say We’re In Love’, ‘Many A New Day’, ‘I Can’t Say No’, and the final rousing chorus of the title song, ‘Oklahoma’. It truly is a musical treat for all the family.
Oklahoma ! was the first collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein, who went on to be one of the most famous and successful musical theatre partnerships of our time. They wanted ‘ Oklahoma!’ to be a different kind of show – one where acting, singing and dancing all came together. And this show has done just that – definitely one not to miss!
