The Broadway
Squash & Fitness Centre in Hammersmith has closed for three months
        for a £1m refurbishment programme.

The project is a joint initiative between Hammersmith & Fulham Council
and Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), which secured a 15-year contract
to manage the council's leisure centres earlier this year.

The development will include a new Wellness Health and Fitness studio
and crèche facilities as well as improvements to dance studios,
reception, squash courts and changing facilities.

Booking systems will also be improved, with the introduction of internet
bookings for members in the new year and moving to 40 minute court times
        to maximise utilisation.

Due to open to the public again in November, the centre will also offer
a diverse range of activities such as women-only sessions, better accessibility
for people with disabilities and activities for younger people.

The project is part of a £2m investment planned for the borough's
sports and leisure centres. Next year, the Lillie Road fitness centre
in Fulham will benefit from a £1m refurbishment.
