Fulham property values appear to have surged to yet new highs with prices achieved rising beyond the record levels seen earlier in the year. More than half the sales recorded recently have been for over a million pounds.
The average price of a home sold in the SW6 post code area in the second half of the year so far is £1,396,965 according to the latest figures from the Land Registry.
This is well up on second quarter of 2014 when the average was just over a million including all-time record sale of £18,000,000 for a penthouse flat on Seagrave Road.
There have been 125 transactions since the end of June of which 65 were for over one million pounds.
London as a whole continued to see the highest price rises in the country in February rising by 13.1% to £463,872. This compares to a 6.5% increase for England and Wales which brought the average price up to £180,252. The peak was achieved in November 2007 when the average reached £181,049.
In December 2014, the latest month for which figures are available, the number of completed house sales in England & Wales decreased by 11 per cent to 70,470 compared with 79,569 in December 2013. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million decreased by 4 per cent to 929 from 967 a year earlier. Repossessions in England and Wales during December 2014 decreased by 38 per cent to 654 compared with 1,062 the previous year. London was the region with the greatest fall in repossession sales with only 46 taking place in December 2014.
