North End Road Spring Market Switches to Sunday

Traffic free event with over 150 stalls and street entertainment is back next weekend

North End Road goes traffic free once again next weekend for its annual Spring Market.

This time round though, the day has been switched from Saturday to Sunday 14 April from 9am to 6pm.

There will be more than 150 seasonal food, drink and gift stalls alongside street entertainment and live music at the market, which was recently crowned Best Community/Parish Market at the Great British Market Awards.

The line-up of street performers includes the return of crowd-favourite, Bridie the Tea Lady, demonstrating stilt-walking at its very best, and Betty Balloon, creating amazing sculptures before your eyes.

The schedule of musicians and singers, meawhile includes FLO – the flute and violin duo playing classical, folk and jazz tunes.

The seasonal markets were launched as an experiment in December 2014 and have since become a very popular regular event, taking place four times a year with North End Road closed to traffic and stalls lining both sides of the street.

H&F Council says that since 2014, it has been working with businesses, traders and residents in NERAG to boost North End Road and its 131-year-old market as a thriving shopping destination.

In January Fulham community were asked to offer their views on a planned community-led redesign of North End Road in Fulham, which has been made possible with new funding including £1 million negotiated from property developers.
