Celebrations include free treats, a one man band and vegetable artist Madam Zucchini
Vegetable artist Madam Zucchini will be the star guest at North End Road Market this Saturday, May 21 followed by a unicycling, plate spinning, balloon modelling clown on May 28.
North End Road is joining Love Your Local Market, a national celebration of local trading with these two all-day events showing off the huge variety of food on offer to shoppers - as well as Britain's Got Talent start Madam Zucchini's vegetable puppets!
There will also be a one man band and face painting and students from West London College will be serving up free tasty treats on both days.
The events have been organised by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and the North End Road Market Action Group as part of their drive to revive this major high street which has been home to a wide variety of traders since the 1880s.
" North End Road Market is always packed with a massive array of stalls selling fresh food," says Cllr Andrew Jones, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration.
" As well as enjoying the fantastic entertainment, visitors will be able to meet a whole host of friendly traders, some who have just started and others whose families have been running stalls for decades."
There is some disappointing news for shoppers however. H&F Council says there will be no traffic-free summer market this year because of gas works currently being carried out in Kings Road by National Grid.
However, the council says that National Grid’s road works are planned to finish in time for the equally popular Autumn and Christmas events.
