Passengers Injured in 'Explosion' at Parsons Green


Witnesses report panic on train and people with burn injuries

Some passengers have reportedly been injured in a fire caused by an explosion on the District Line at Parsons Green at around 8.20am this morning, 15 September.

News website Metro.co.uk has published a picture of a fire burning within a white bucket inside a Lidl carrier bag.

Passengers said there was panic on the packed commuter train as smoke and flames filled the carriages.

Witnesses also reported seeing passengers being carried out on stretchers with what appeared to be burn injuries.

The emergency services, including armed police, 50 firefighters and London Ambulance Service are on the scene and we will bring you more news as we receive it.

The local District Line has been suspended and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
