After accident on Wandsworth Bridge Road caused gridlock
Traffic in the south of Fulham is back to normal late on Monday evening after being becoming gridlocked for two hours due to a collision at the junction of Wandsworth Bridge Road and Townmead Road. The collision has now been cleared.
Queues began building up on Wandsworth Bridge Road during the evening rush hour and by 7pm traffic had ground to a halt from Fulham Broadway to Wandsworth Bridge and as far east as Gunter Grove, as well as every side road in the area.
TfL meanwhile reported bus routes 28, 44, 295, 391, 424 and C3 were subject to delays of up to 80mins due to the traffic collision on Wandsworth Bridge.
The situation was exacerbated by the closure of Putney Bridge, which will continue until September 26.
