Langford Primary Starts First Term as an Academy

Sands End school joins nearby Hurlingham Academy as part of United Learning

Langford Primary, a large Victorian school originally constructed in 1889, joins Peterborough Road secondary school Hurlingham Academy -formerly Hurlingham amd Chelsea School - which joined United Learning and became an academy one year ago in January 2015.

Since then, the school has achieved an eight point rise in the percentage of students achieving five or more A* to C grades at GCSE including English and maths, results which were celebrated at a special Foundation Day held this autumn.

Jon Coles, Chief Executive of United Learning, says: " I am delighted to welcome Langford Primary into United Learning. Under the leadership of Seamus Gibbons, the school is making significant progress and we look forward to continuing to support staff as they seek to provide each and every pupil with the high-quality education they deserve."
