Blaze on Wandsworth Bridge Road broke out on fifth floor

A fire broke out in a block of flats in Fulham this Saturday (18 May) requiring a woman and two children to flee the blaze.

The Fire Brigade were called at 9.24am and five fire engines and around 35 firefighters attended the scene at Wandsworth Bridge Road.

Half of a fifth floor flat was damaged by fire. The occupants had left the property before the arrival of the Brigade and there were no reported injuries.

The fire was under control by 11.51am. Fire crews from Fulham, Wandsworth, Chelsea, Battersea, Tooting, Clapham, and Kensington fire stations helped put it out.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
