Suspected Fulham Drug Dealer's Car Drags Police Officer

A 39-year man from Fulham is in custody after a car he was driving dragged a police officer down a street in Notting Hill.

Veran Whiskey of Edenvale St, SW6, was stopped by officers from the Met's Territorial Support Group at around 4:06pm on Saturday, 23 January in Swanscombe Road, St Anns Villas, W11.

The car made off without permission injuring the officer who was dragged behind it as it made away. It collided with a police vehicle and a number of other vehicles before coming to a stop.

The injured officer was taken to hospital; his condition is not life-threatening or life-changing.

Mr Whiskey was also taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury before going into police custody. He was later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, dangerous driving and possession of criminal property.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, 25 January, along with 44-year Imran Khan of Queensdale Crescent, W11, who was in the same car, He was charged with possession of a controlled class B drug.

There were no further reported injuries to any other officers or members of the public.
