Calling Fulham's Young Film Makers!

Here's your chance to make a film for TV

West London Mental Health Trust has launched a competition called Mind Your Head aimed at creative 14 -17 year-olds.

The contest aims to help break down the stigma associated with mental ill health.

Young people are being asked to create an outline for a five minute film addressing the issue of mental health and stigma for young people. The film can be a documentary, a drama or a combination of both.

Three winning entrants will receive digital camcorders and a day’s training on film making from media professionals. They will then be asked to go and make their film and will be given access to professional editing services and advice.

The three films will be shown on “Charge” the programme for young people on the Community Channel and also produced as DVDs to support the West London Mental Health NHS Trust’s campaign against the stigmatisation of people with mental health problems.

Entries can be submitted either by individuals or groups, and may take a number of forms including a script, a graphic storyboard, a rough pilot video, interview outline with questions or written proposal outlining the content of each scene.

Entries must be accompanied by full contact details for the lead individual and a list of all contributors with their ages.   The closing date for entries is Monday March 30. Judging will take place at the start of April and the winners will be notified by Monday April 6.
