Crime Summit invites local people to make their voices heard
The third annual Hammersmith and Fulham Crime Summit comes to Hammersmith Town Hall on Saturday February 28, offering local residents the chance to tell the authorities
what they think about crime in the area.
The theme for this year’s summit is “enviro-crime”, such as graffiti, littering and dog fouling, and the council’s estate wardens, street scene and street cleansing officers will be on hand to discuss it, along with the police and members of the Parks Constabulary.
There will also be workshops where local people can discuss other crime-related issues, and short presentations from senior police officers, including borough commander, Detective Chief Superintendent Kevin Hurley.
More than 400 people attended last year's summit and a big turnout is expected this time. Councillor Greg Smith, Cabinet Member for Crime and Street Scene and architect of the Crime Summit, says: “While crime in the borough is falling there is no room for complacency and we are continuing to work hard with the Police and other organisations to drive crime down further in Hammersmith & Fulham.
"Continued input from residents is vital to getting this right. Our aim is clear, we want to secure the safety of everyone who lives or works in the borough.”
Doors will be open from 9.30am till 2pm. To book a place or find out more, call
call 020 8753 2816 or email crime.summit@lbhf.gov.uk, providing your name, contact details and information regarding any special requirements.
