The summer starts here for Fulham gardeners
Rare plants, homemade jam and baking and a barbecue with Gloucester Old Spot sausages are all on the menu at the Fairbridge Fair, on the evenings of May 6 and throughout the day on May 7.
The fair is at All Saint's Vicarage, 70 Fulham High Street and will have orange balloons at the entrance to guide in visitors.
The fair, which is run by the Fairbridge Garden Society kicks off on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8pm with actresses
Susan Hampshire and Carole Boyd, who plays Lynda Snell in the Archers coming to open the proceedings and chat to
visitors about all things horticultural.
On Thursday the fair will be open from 8.30am till 3pm and will offer a demonstration about planting pots and window boxes for the summer at 10am, a talk on looking after your lawn at 11am, and at 2pm children's book author Elizabeth Laird will read stories to children.
Nearby Pryor's Bank Cafe is running a barbecue with adult and child friendly food.
Plants for sale will include various cleomes, cerinthes and several varieties of plectranthus, plus a selection of shade loving plants and plenty of vegetables.
Based at Fulham Palace Garden Centre, The 400 strong Fairbridge Garden Society was formed in 1993 to promote the Fulham Palace Garden Centre and Fairbridge, the parent charity, and also to provide a varied and programme of events for local gardeners. Find out more at the society's website.
