Polo exhibitions and family fun at Hurlingham Park

Hurlingham Park is hosting a free polo open day this Sunday, June 7.

The entertainment will mix showcase polo demonstrations

by top stars of the game Jack Kidd and Jamie Morrison

with family activities including a bouncy castle and face painting.

Gates open at 11am and this is the programme for the day:

12.30pm Jousting Display
1.30pm   Ladies vs Men Polo Exhibition Match
3pm       Equine Exhibition, Display of Skill at Arms
4.15pm   Jousting Display
5pm       Polo - All Stars vs World Polo Select
5.50pm   Presentation
6.15pm   Bicycle Polo
7pm       Bars Close
7.30pm   Park Closes

Other attractions include climbing walls, clay pigeon shooting and a wide selection of food and drink.

The open day comes after the two day Polo in the Park competition, which takes place on June 5 and 6 and promises to bring the posh people's game back to Hurlingham Park for the first time in 70 years.

Grandstand tickets for this event start at £35 on Friday and £40 on Saturday, with prices rising to £395 for a Gold Package which includes a champagne reception. lunch and a VIP view of events. £450 Platinum Package tickets, which also includes a polo lesson, have already sold out.

A number of advance tickets to the free open day have been distributed through local schools and tickets can also be collected in person from borough libraries, or online by clicking on the box on London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham's home page, though if you do this there is a nominal booking fee of £1.50.

Residents will also be able to pick up tickets on the day of the event from a special red bus at the park. The stadium, set up for Polo in the Park, is able to hold 5,000 people.
