River Café Set Lunch Available till Easter

Top restaurant's charity deal extended

River Café has extended its winter set lunch offer, which supports the Hammersmith and Fulham branch of the Alzheimer's Society.

The riverside Italian restaurant says that in response to the popularity of the set menu, it is extending it until Thursday April 9, just before the Easter weekend.

In choosing the Alzheimer's Society as the charity to benefit, River Café teamed up with Hammersmith and Fulham's Mayor Andrew Johnson, who is also giving it his support.

Mayor Andrew says: " I chose the Alzheimer's Society as the charity for my mayoral year for two principle reasons. Namely from personal experience of the condition from having two grandparents, my maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother and seeing first hand just how debilitating the illness can be and the effect that it has on both carers and suffers.

" Also from the need to highlight a condition which is becoming more prevalent in the older population within the United Kingdom and within the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

" Our branch of the Alzheimer's Society provides invaluable assistance to people with dementia and their carers and I am proud to be supporting them during my term in office."

The lunchtime set menu is on offer from Monday to Friday, subject to availability and costs £18 for two courses or £24 for three. To book it you must call River Café in advance on 020 7386 4200 and mention the set lunch offer.

The Hammersmith and Fulham branch of the Alzheimer's Society is at 49 Queen Caroline Street, London W6, and can be contacted on 020 8563 0001.
