Hammersmith Council's "outrage" over change at Charing Cross Hospital
Would the Councillors in Hammersmith and Fulham please like to read the following report dated February 2012 before, once again, sounding off about "local A&E department must not be closed":http://www.northwestlondon.nhs.uk/_uploads/~filestore/983B3BF3-9C50-4B29-B72B-8CA7B9D1A88B/paper-3-1-shaping-a-healthier-future-case-for-change-9-feb-2012.pdfThis is a 36-page report from the 8 Clinical Commissioning Groups in the NW London NHS area. It makes a compelling case for (1) concentrating specialist care in bigger hospitals while (2) providing GP-led care better at the local level and (3) ensuring that the two link together better. And delivering all this with only very small increases in spending while (4) keeping up to world standards of clinical excellence. This is the future.
