parade on Sunday if Chelsea win European Cup
I will be delighted if Chelsea win the cup but do resent the implications of the imposition of a parade on the local citizens. The victory bus tour is expected to last 35 minutes from 1600 and yet the police feel it necessary to close down this part of the borough from "early in the morning" and the roads will not be reopened until safe to do so - whatever that means, probably 6pm at the earliest. Is this all really necessary - surely Chelsea could open their ground on the sunday and the fans have the benefit of the teams touring the perimeter of the pitch. PS I do hope commonsense will prevail and people allowed to access their homes - for example i plan to be returning home to Sands End about noon and have to cross Wandsworth Bridge northbound.
