Where are the highlights of sw6...

Where do people like to go and eat, drink etc etc.... Who has the best gastro in SW6 ?, which is the best local pub ? - where do you go and why ?

Went to the Wheatsheaf at the week-end - it was one of the busier pubs around Fulham... looks great, felt lively, but they wouldn't serve me one of there special offer drinks, as the offer (whilst not advertised so) was only available during the week ! - It  was a bank holiday Monday and they refused..... not good !

Maybe too many people in Fulham are saying to themselves "One doesn't talk about where one dines out, where one shops, it's so vulgar, must be orff now!" They also say good morning to neighbours though clenched teeth.

Went to The Pelican the other day, always a good place to chill and have a beer or two. Food is good as well. Can someone give me a venue for the week-end please....

Robin, your answer has made me think! I live close to Chelsea Football Ground, and the most welcome change here has definitely been the local pub changing from the hideous Cross Eyed Newt, full of chanting football fans, to the Butcher's Hook, a very welcoming gastro-pub with a reputation for good food. It's made a huge difference.Another local favourite is the little Brazil Cafe on Fulham Road where the service is very friendly and they serve great pizza. It is currently doing a two for the price of one deal, which is really good value.Any more recommendations?

The Hurlingham on Wandsworth Bridge Road (nr PC World) is ok on a Friday evening.Usually free champagne cocktails for ladies between 18:00-20:00 and live music.  Although the musician/singer has now moved to Austrailia, therefore not sure what it is like now.
