The Met Office is warnng that ice is likely to be a hazard on roads and pavements across London on Monday February 5, and adds that the public should be aware there could be disruption to travel.

However, Hammersmith and Fulham Council say they have been preparing for the wintry conditions with gritters out on the roads for the last three days.

A council update on Sunday, February 5 said: " We have been gritting priority 1 and 2 roads since Sat 2 Feb. All priority 1 and 2 routes were gritted at 5am Sunday.

" Gritters are moving through residential roads today, prioritising roads where refuse collections take place tomorrow (Monday) working from the north of the borough. No major issues are reported.

" Footpaths - priority 1 footpaths were gritted last night and priority 2 footpaths are being gritted today, including council housing estates, prioritising sheltered housing."
