A new series of free Cultural Walks across the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham kicks off in June and runs through till September.

The walks introduce a range of local culture, from exotic food to famous figures from the past.

Here's the schedule for June and July:

JUNE

Saturday June 12, 10.30am - Middle Eastern Food Tour

Buy it, cook it, eat it - an introduction to the ingredients which will transform your menus. The walks lasts 90 minutes and the guide is Ann Jones.

Meet at Shepherds Bush Market Tube Station on the Hammersmith and City Line. Booking is required.

JULY

Saturday July 3, 11am - The Walham Green Wander

Scratch the modern surface of Fulham Broadway and you find a mediaeval village complete with village green and pond. This walk lasts 60 - 90 minutes and the guide is Simon Rodway.

Meet at Fulham Broadway Underground Station, no need to book.

Sunday July 4, 11am - Asparagus and Aristocrats - Fulham's Past and Present

An entertaining stroll across Fulham from Walham Green market gardens to the riverside palaces. This walk lasts 120 minutes and the guide is Simon Rodway.

Meet at Fulham Broadway Underground Station, no need to book.

Saturday July 24, 11am - The Fulham Curry Trail

A tour of the cosmopolitan North End Road, learning about Indian food, dance, fabrics and rituals. This walk lasts 120 minutes and the guide is food writer Monisha Bharadwaj.

Meet at West Kensington Underground Station. Booking is required.

Saturday July 24, 2pm -  The Shepherds Bush Olympics

Celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the 1908 Olympics in White City, which has gone down in history as "The Battle of Shepherds Bush" and also find out the latest on what's happening in Stratford for 2012. This walk lasts 90 minutes and the guide is Simon Rodway.

Meet at Shepherds Bush Central Line Underground Station, Westfield exit, no need to book.
