Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s Commercial Services Team are holding two roadshows in the borough as part of National Food Safety Week.

The roadshows are at Kings Mall Shopping Centre on Thursday June 9 from noon to 2pm and Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre on June 10, also from noon till 2pom.

Food Safety Week, which runs until June 12, is an annual event held to promote the importance of good food hygiene in the home and healthy eating.

This year's theme is What Goes On Behind Closed Doors, bringing the spotlight onto what we all do in our own kitchens, with the aim of getting us to think about what we do when preparing food, whether what we do is as safe as we think, or could we actually be creating food hygiene problems we are not aware of.

At the roadshows, the council teams will be looking at some common food hygiene myths and explaining, for example, why we really shouldn't wash poultry and why we shouldn't eat food past its 'use by' date.

You can pick up valuable food safety information along with goodies, such as mugs, bags and fridge thermometers.  There will also be the chance to enter a prize draw to win £150 of shopping at a supermarket of your choice.
