A Fulham man has been charged in connection with the death of a Mitcham resident who was run down by his own van.

David Browne, 47, of Fulham Road, was charged with perverting the course of justice after Charles Bunyasi, 49 was crushed under the rear wheels of his van in Coulsdon on the morning of Saturday June 11.

Mr Bunyasi died later that day in hospital, and a post mortem established that the cause of death was head injuries.

Browne was remanded in custody and was due to appea via video-link in Croydon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 14 alongside 28-year-old Terrell Thuesday, from Croydon.

Thuesday was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving while disqualified as well as perverting the course of justice.

Mr Bunyasi, a father of three, was delivering a parcel while working as a weekend delivery man to earn extra money to support his family, when he was killed in Coulsdon Road.

A third man aged 61 has been bailed to return to a south London police station later this month.
