|Fulham's New Riverside Sainsbury's Store Opens Today|
Huge new supermarket offers food, clothing, cafe, homewares and onsite dentist
Sainsbury's new superstore at Fulham Wharf opens today, May 13 at 9am.
The supermarket employs 384 people, including people who have transferred from the old store and 98 new staff recruited locally during the last few months.
The two floor store has a customer café on the mezzanine floor and sells a wide range of non-food items including the TU clothing range, kitchen and homewares and electricals.
There is also an onsite Centre for Dentistry practice, which it says will provide a more accessible service in a less intimidating environment with extended opening hours in the evenings and at weekends.
The practice will have a fully qualified dental team and options for cosmetic dentistry such as teeth whitening.
The underground car park meanwhile will include Pod Points for recharging electric cars
Like the previous store, the supermarket aims to have strong community involvement, supporting a local charity as well at Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank.
This is the company's fifth store in Fulham, alongside its town centre store on Fulham Broadway and three convenience stores. In January it opened its latest convenience store just a few hundred yards from the new superstore on Wandsworth Bridge Road.
The new supermarket will be open from 7am to 10pm on Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
Leigh Brown, manager of the store says: "We’re delighted the store is open and I know it will provide a fantastic shopping experience for the local community."
