The Paralympic Torch is making a special visit to Sainsbury's on Townmead Road today, Thursday August 16 from 4pm until 6pm.

It will be greeted by Hammersmith & Fulham Mayor Cllr Belinda Donovan who says: " I am delighted that Fulham will be able to take part in the build-up to what I am sure will be a fantastic Paralympics."

Edward Collett, representative of Townmead Sainsbury’s says: "We are thrilled to welcome the Paralympic Torch to Fulham."

Paralympic sports fans can pose with the torch. Sainsbury’s have created a special place at the front of the store where there will be room for photos.

Mr Collett adds: " It’s a good opportunity for customers to interact with the torch and raise the profile of the Paralympics, which Sainsbury’s has invested a lot of time in."

Local charity representatives James Coke of the Hammersmith and Fulham Action on Disability group and Daphine Aikens, the manager of Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, are also on hand to talk to visitors.
