Open Weekend Brings Olympics to SW6
Part of celebrations to mark two years to start of games
This Saturday, July 24 Jerdan Place off Fulham Broadway will play host to a special celebration marking two years to the start of he London Olympics.
This event is part of a nationwide celebration called Open Weekend, which consist of over 800 events taking place across this country this weekend, offering a variety of challenges in sports, arts and entertainment.
In Jerdanj Place, the fun starts at 12 noon and runs until 4pm and features dancing, singing and sports activities for all the family to try out, or just to watch.
There will also be musical theatre, hula hoop performances and workshops and much more!
If you are feeling even more energetic, head for the Lillie Road Fitness Centre which has a programme of free activities running throughout Saturday.
These sessions include a table tennis championship at 10am, a rowing challenge at midday and for those who really want to test themselves, a triathlon challenge also kicking off at noon.
If you would rather let your brain take the strain, discover some Strange Discoveries at Brompton Cemetery between Friday July 23 and Sunday July 25 between 1pm and 5pm daily. Visitors can take an entertaining quiz, then join one of the hourly guided tours to hear stories about famous sports people and others buried in the cemetery.
