London Ambulance Service have confirmed that a woman pedestrian died after being hit by a lorry in Kings Road on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesman said: "We were called at 2.18pm to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Edith Grove and Kings Road in SW10.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene and arrived on scene within three minutes.

"Sadly, a woman was dead at the scene."

A spokeswoman for the Met Police, who also attended the accident scene, added: " Officers from the serious collision unit are investigating. Local road closures are in place."

Witnesses reported seeing the air ambulance attempting to land nearby and the scene around the accident being cordoned off.

Following the accident, Edith Grove remained closed between Fulham Road and Kings Road throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing local traffic to a standstill and causing

bus routes 11, 22, 328 and C3 to be diverted and delayed over and routes 14 and 414 also severely delayed.
