Police have now issued a statement after finding a body buried in a garden in Alderville Road in Parsons Green.

They say: " A murder enquiry has been launched following the discovery of human remains in the garden of a property in Alderville Road, Fulham SW6 this afternoon.

" A search warrant was executed at the address on Tuesday March 9 based on information received from a member of the public.

" A search of the garden area uncovered the remains wrapped in carpet. Officers remain at the scene and an examination of the remains is on-going to establish identity. "

The main resident of the property, 38a Alderville Road is Roy Heath, 52, who is reportedly suffering from terminal cancer and in hospital receiving treatment. He has been arrested and bailed to return at the end of March pending further enquiries.

The Homicide and Serious Crime Command at Belgravia are investigating. DI Tim Dobson says: "It is believed that the body may have been at the scene between 15 and 20 years.

" Whilst enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of this person we are keen to speak to anyone who may have lived in this road around that time. If you have any information please contact us in the strictest of confidence."
